Default Paph. Ashburtoniae (barbatum x insigne)

Old primary hybrid that has opened its very first flower. It's not completely opened yet, but I thought it was so nice looking that I wanted to share it with you.

I won this division at an auction, held on the Swedish orchid forum I'm a member of, last year. I was sooo happy when I did, since I had fallen in love with it when the seller showed a pic of its mother plant.

I had forgotten how dark the dorsal was, so that was a very pleasant surprise.

I really like this primary, since it seems to be relatively easy to grow and bloom.

Here it is, enjoy!

Oh don't the day seem lank and long, when all goes right, and nothing goes wrong.

Presents itself very nicely. I definitely like the way the petals are held. Very nice!

There's something about barbatum primaries... pure essence of Paph.

Wow! I haven't seen this hybrid. I love the colors and the shape of the petals.
