Yep, you should definitely get a venestum. See what your mate thinks of it when it flowers! LOL
My two venustums are a work of modern art to me. I love their unusual beauty and the way that they command respect and attention for daring to be so unique. The soft colouration of the green and white is both relaxing and enticing and I will challenge anyone to say that they find it dull. I can't wait for my beautiful paphs to flower so that I can share their beauty with you all on Orchid Board. Anyone who disagrees with me can talk to the hand

If you like venestum, check out Paph sangii var. ayubianum! Came across it while checking out my favorite ebayers. Paphiopedilum-sangii-ajubianum-

Wow! That is a pretty one! The coloring is fantastic! I keep discovering so many more that I like! To help, I erased my wish list and no longer write down the ones I think I must have...so I will forget (hopefully).
So many plants; so little space. Sigh.

That is striking!

Not as nice leaves as mine though *g*

For those that haven't seen, it arrived, though I think it might be a bit sick

How about this one:

eBay | Paphiopedilum tigrinum ! 2 Triebig & blühstark

I think I possibly like this better... except the leaves are not as good of course!

That's one I've been looking at on several vendors' pages. If it wasn't so expensive as it always seems to be, I would be really tempted, mottled leaves or not.

I love the petals - it feels like it holds two signal flags or something, like the Paph is saying "Pick me, pick me, pick me!".

That's a really nice one!! Though the side petals look a bit like oars, or elephant ears!
