Default Paph callosum

This afternoon I went to Amsterdam to go vote at the French consulate (1st round presidential elections), and in order to get there I have walk down the canal with the floating flower market. As usual I poked around the orchids, and most of the vendors had the usual assortment of hybrid noids.
Then in one shop I spotted this little cutie. Not only is it labeled, but it's a species! Really cheap too.
My one regret is not buying one of the several Cyp species that were also for sale. Guess I'll stop there again when I go back for the final voting in 2 weeks time.

Pics aren't great since the light is starting to go, and I didn't clean the crud off my backdrop, or put much effort into getting a good photo. I'll get better pics tomorrow.

Cute. I like it. So now you have decided to just go ahead and get more paphs regardless of whether you can bloom them or not? ha ha, you sound just like me although one of mine is now in low spike

I know I said 'no more Paphs until I rebloom my 2', and just a few days ago too. But it's easier to say no when you are clicking on a website, than to say no when you have the plant in front of you, and at a nice price....
Never say never when it comes to orchids!

Oh, gorgeous!

If I were you, not only would I've bought it on the spot, I would've done a little jig of joy too! I've ordered a Paph. callosum var. sublaeve, so I'll be getting a cousin to yours in May or something. The funny part is that I've bought Paphs like mad now despite never ever have laid eyes eyes on one in bloom in real life! I'm a complete sucker for those with mottled foliage so I think I'll have one of each of the entire sigmatopetalum subgenus soon!
