Default Paphiopedilum Venus Knight

Well, I fell off the wagon. Winter has been so mild in the Pacific Northwest and I happened upon two intriguing orchids on Ebay that I just couldn't let go, especially after seeing their names!

One was Paphiopedilum Venus Knight. The flower is a bit dirty and travel-worn, but came through decently. I love the flower and the name on this one, and it has those beautiful venustum leaves, though a bit more matte in texture. Venustum almost has a sparkle in the leaves. I also love the pattern of spots on it and the little bumps at the base of the lip, shown in the last 2 pics. The other plant I ordered was Ascofinetia Moonlight Firefly, another I fell in love with for the name.

Went a little camera happy on this one...

natural spread just over 10.5cm

Nice one Evan! The warty petals comes from sukhakulii. It definitely has potential.

Thanks Terri and Silken! I love all the spots on this one. I saw a couple pictures of this cross that only had a few spots and had more venustum influence.

Very nice! I wish I could buy one on ebay. There are almost no Canadian sellers and it wouldn't be safe to ship yet. It has been warm here all winter but not in other provinces.

Thank you all for the nice comments!

Had to post a little correction/update: The natural spread is actually 12cm! It was still bouncing back from travel stress. Also, the leaves do sparkle like venustum! I just had to see it in stronger natural lighting!
