Some of the new breeding in the Maudiae lines are getting quite close...and large as well! I am calling them "Super Maudiaes!" Try looking into Paph. Voodoo Magic or Paph. Rory Jones. I had one awarded last year Paph. After Dark though it still had a lot of deep burgundy tones in it. Check out the the Krull Smith WebSite for a few more possibilities....

Yes krull-smith has some dark ones!

KRULL-SMITH, INC. #1 In Orchids
Paph Scott Ware 'Crystelle' FCC/AOS is dark! 91 points on this awarded paph

I have a huge pic of it in their printed catalogue, but it's on their website

One of my Paph Maudiae ‘Los Osos’ AM/AOS x Red Pepper is dark (just look for purple leaf undersides, even the top of the leaf have some purple).... and it is completely hideous and weed. Probably the most vigorous paphs, I have two new growths coming for the next blooming...this year the bloom was deformed so I cut it off. The staminode was twisted in both bloomings, a major flaw. I might give it away or maybe it's third blooming will get fixed up lol

here's a photo from last year with my old camera. The overall shape is alright...

I have a sibbling as well that hasn't bloomed yet for me, but I bought it previously bloomed. I can tell this sibbling won't be dark because the leaves don't have any purple base. I broke the top off the sibbling by accident, I'm so clumsy. The top portion grew new roots, and the bottom portion is growing its new leaves. It's a vigorous cross.

I like Scott Ware, but I'm afraid this photo was photoshoped. The stem looks black too.
