Oh so they like acid conditions? That's good to know as our tap water is very hard indeed here, 27 on the scale ( or is that how much scale I have to clean off my kettle???)
I like Miracid - its a good food for lots of house plants particularly cacti.

Hi Rosie,
my friends bought it from a local garden centre, where Ray Creek's wife works but I'm not sure if it is one Ray grew or whether it was just an import. The garden centre isn't a chain either, so I'm not sure where I could recommend.
I recently got a Paph. 'Magic Lantern' from Easy Orchids, but I don't remember seeing Paph Pinnochio there.

I would expect the flowers on this cross to last longer than one week, two to three might being more the norm. As far as number of flowers/peduncle, I have a Paph. Salvidore Dali (Paph. liemianum x victoria-regina, another Cochlopetalum cross) that's blooming with its 17th flower with no sign of stopping.

Actually, it likes it warm, as both parents are rather low altitude plants from very close to the equator-primulinum from Sumatra and glaucophyllum from Java. I have both parents and they seem to take the heat quite well, as long as I don't overdo the light.. At any rate, they have a reputation for being fairly easy, and their hybrid should be at least as easy=maybe more (good old fashioned hybrid vigor)! |

I don't have a pinocchio but I have a primulinum the pod parent of pinocchio and as of the 16th of this month it has been blooming for a full year, 11 flowers so far. Even went through a re-potting in the middle of last summer.

I have one as well that has a lot of foliage bit has failed to bloom yet. Do they need a lot of light to bloom?
