shall i repot this paph?
Default shall i repot this paph?

this paph has been in the same pot it came with since i got it. http://www.orchidboard.com/community...tml#post231439

today, i see roots near the drain holes of the pot. does it mean the plant requires more space? or just roots seeking water/moisture. the pot is placed on a bigger pot of another plant - outdoors.

Roots showing up at the bottom of the pot do not necessarily signal a need for repotting; Paphs actually like to be quite rootbound (to a point). What you are looking for is a mix that has lost its consistency (i.e. broken down into fine fibres). Such a mix will hold too much water and minerals, and needs to be replaced.

Obviously things are grown a bit differently in Malaysia from how they are grown here, but repotting Paphs annually is considered good practice here. Just check out the mix - if it has broken down, repot.

i think paphs like to be repotted yearly.....clean new media....also, those dead leaves on the top of the pot will give insects a place to hide.....
