Ciao Francesco,

accoridng to this link Paphiopedilum papuanum and to Koopowitz' book this is a very rare species... (and very difficult to grow or even keep alive)... Olaf Gruss (different forum) confirmed how rare the species is and taht it is known in only very few collections... none of the references given above has made a reference to f. album... if indeed there is a f. album of this species, and it is for sale, I would expect an astronomic price!

given the info above, I would doubt whether the plant offered is even Paph. papuanum... is it a well known (and serious) vendor?

Post note: I found also that apparently, most of the Paph papuanum on sale are actually Paph violascens or Paph. bougainvilleanum (Paph. bougainvilleanum f album is known!)

Default papuanum alba?

Thank you for your answer. I join a photo of this plant, that for seller is Papuanum Alba. I don't think that is a Bougainvilleanum because this has not leaves green and white.
Thank you again. Francesco

well... the habitus of that plan does not look at all like Paph papuanum or any of its relatives... also not the coloration of the leave. You can see a picture of the plant in this link:

Don't buy the plant. The plant looks like primulianum type plant. Papuanum is very hard to find, slow growing and very difficult to cultivate. Most of the time, the plant and it's relative such as violascens, bogovillenum doesn't live long.

Save you money and buy other more rewarding plant. =)

Unfortunately I, already, bought and yesterday arrived.
Did you say primulinum because leaves are undulate? I think you have reason. But now I must keep plant. Yes, perhaps, I think that it is a fraud.
