My Paphiopedilum primulinum has been in flower for the best part of 25 years. The flowers have a mild rose fragrance

Lovely and great to hear that it's been in bloom so long. The fragrance is one of the ways you know you have the real deal. Unfortunately, virtually all of the modern "primiulinums" I've seen on the market are highly likely to be hybrids being passed off as primulinum, a real shame.

The growing conditions will also influence the production of fragrance. I've grown divisions in both bark/ pumice mix and in Leca/pumice. They seem to prefer the bark mix and only produce the scent in the bark mix

Wonderful looking flower!

25 years is a long time for a flower to remain open. A world record!

In any case - beautiful looking flower.

Wow, nice. So how long do the flowers last? Are you getting two or more blooms per year? How are you growing this one? Thanks.
