I purchased a division of Hadley Cash's (Marriott Orchids, Kernersville NC) plant several years ago, and in my warm greenhouse (compared to his with a great swamp cooler) it always had very washed-out colors.

It was stuck in a box from December 7 through January 2 during our move south, and it has been sitting in a north-facing window since them, and definitely not getting watered enough, but it now has two spikes - probably thanking me for setting it free.

Definitely better colors, but still has a ways to go. (iPhone image) Yes, that is the wall color in the kitchen.
