And Then There Were Eight Male
Default And Then There Were Eight

This is my Phrag. Nicholle Tower showing off its P. dalessandroi genes.

This morning, with the newest bud cracking open, it achieved a high mark. There are 8 flowers open at once. This may last only for a day or two, it's but worth noting, for sure.

If I'm doling out clonal names, I'd have to call this one Phrag. Nicholle Tower "Flame Cloud".

Beautiful, I really love the color! I do not grow Phrags and honestly thought they only produced one flower. This is so nice! Congratulations

Thanks all.

Several phrag species, like dalessandroi, are notorious for producing branched spikes, and will often pass this trait on in their hybrids. Some species & hybrids only do it on occasion, or only once they grow to be large, multi-growth plants. Others are pretty reliable, like this Nicholle Tower.

Normally, most Phrag flower spikes bloom sequentially, and will have 1 - 2 flowers (sometimes 3, rarely more) open at a time. However, on branched spikes, each branch can hold 1 - 2 (or more) flowers at a time, making for a nice floriferous display.

Anyway, this clone produce smallish flowers compared to other NTs, but the trade-off is that it branches heavily and holds a lot of flowers open at once.
