Thanks lotis and Paphlover, I really like the color too. It's a bit darker than the picture shows but when I upload to the computer they look lighter. I also really like the thin grass like leaves on this one.

That will be great, I can go for that. I do like my Phrags and being able to set them in a saucer of water has made them one of my easiest orchids to care for. I just need to re-pot and I just can't seem to decide what it is I want to put them in. I was going to put them in leca but I just don't know.

I am having a bit of trouble with my smallest one but it has a new growth so I will see if it will bloom for me this time.

I just found (and bought) a 1 gallon sized Olaf Gruss. (An Orchid web plant with a number). I really had not considered another Bessia hybrid so soon after the Phrag Nichole Tower, because they are shaped so alike, but I loved the faded pink color of this one. The plant was also very robust, and looked so well taken care of! Healthy! This will be my second phrag!

How does the size compare? I love my Olaf Gruss it is still blooming. It has not stopped yet sense I got it. The last of the 3 growths is putting another leaf and I am waiting to see if it is going to also have a spike. It is also starting at least one new growth and perhaps another. Love, love, love it.

The first growth had 9 blooms on it and the second one is on it's 8th and has one behind it. It's crazy.

I do not knowI am "getting it." It is in the mail and I have had one frozen orchid. Oh Why!!!! do I do stupid things like order orchids in February!!!! Size? This is crazy! I looked at the photo and thought: That's Crazy! It was totally lopsided. One side had big growths, but there were a bunch of starter growths on the other side. This might have kept people from buying it. Meh Lopsided plants eventially fill in. That's what I think. It is Huge (to my beginner's mind). It has about 9 growths at various heights and stages of bloominess. I had a real picture of the flowers after googling the number. Just google Z5468 and you will see how big it is. The flowers were a very delicate baby pink as well.

Okay Shannon, here is a side by side comparison of the plants. Nichole Tower, and Olaf Gruss:

Gruss is on the right side. This has 11 growths, the Tower on the left has only 3. The Tower's leaves are much thicker, almost twice as thick as the Gruss. They both have approximately the same length leaves, plus or minus. (I am kind of glad of that because I pictured the Gruss being bigger.)

Some how I missed this one, thanks for the picture. Nice plants but I can't tell for sure how big it is. Mine has fairly grassy foliage on it compared to my others. So my cross is (besseae ('Chili Pepper' x 'Colossal') x pearcei) I just went and looked up when I got it. My receipt says 3/15/15 so I have had it for a year. It came in bud with 3 growths. the first one had 9 blooms on it. The second growth now has just opened it's 9th one and is going to have at least 1 more. I have been waiting to see about the 3rd growth and I am starting to think it too is going to bloom. I can't believe this thing, it is also starting I think 3 new growths.

I haven't re-potted it yet because it has not stopped blooming in a year. And if this 3rd one blooms not sure how long this will be in bloom.

I got some new pictures. This is the 9th bloom on the second growth and as you can see it is going to have another one. I do feel a nubbin but only time will tell if it will make a bloom. Also here is the 3rd growth and it is spiking, hooray!! So this will be well over a year blooming. The second one has one growth and the 3rd one has 2 new growths. I hope one doesn't stop growing. It seems like they never get 2 on one for me.

You are doing a great job with that. Wonderful plant. Does anybody know whether all the Olaf Gruss plants are this floriferous?

I have no idea, hopefully Mr. Happy will chime in on that one. I can't wait to see how many and how long Optimist's will have when it starts to bloom.

It could be mine will take a bit of a break depending on if it will have any more buds or not.
