I noticed the picture of the flower in the pot and I have a NoID that looks similar and does the exact same thing! It takes forever to bloom but it is so worth it. Next year, I am sure you will notice that the bud has been set for months before it even begins to emerge. Beautiful plant.

Well, I'm new to phaps so I really don't know how much time it will take to full bloom. I recall someone have said it takes a while.
I'm not worried, blooms are growing in size and growing taller, with good colors as you can see by the photos...so, no worries.

But I will know I have succeed when this plant has gone through the complete life cycle, i.e., when it gets a complete new growth.

Here it is, my first phap and my first phap flower.
If there's anyone who can confirm the ID, it would be great.

The second bloom, not yet fully opened.

I would say there is quite a bit of spicerianum in this and the other parent is insigne, So without a doubt this is insigne,
Very nice.

You're right, Phraggy. This is a Paphiopedilum Leeanum, which is a natual hybrid between Paphiopedilum spicerianum × Paphiopedilum insigne found in Bhutan and north India.

In yellow it's insigne's natural distribution. In blue, the spicerianums.
Leeanum, a natural hybrid, was found in the interface between both species (Bhutan and north of India).
