Phrag with few roots...how to handle Female
Default Phrag with few roots...how to handle? Pictures!

I repotted a youngish Eumelia Arias that I acquired Oct 23 this year, and it only has a few good roots. Any of you Phrag experts re-habbed one before?

It's actually two plants in one pot--the larger is maybe 3.5 inches tall. It has a minute new growth showing.

I'll try to remember to post a pic tomorrow when I've got some light.

Pick up a bottle of KelpMax and add a tablespoon per gallon to all watering and feeding for a week or two, even spraying the plant.

Problem solved.

Thanks, Ray. I have KelpMax, fortunately. Would you water a Phrag with few roots as often as you'd water a well-rooted one?

I am an equal-opportunity abuser of plants. If the potting medium is open enough, there should be no limit to the amount of water they can take.

Let,me add that having a moist, airy medium also stimulates root growth, all by itself. If it's too dry, the root tips can stop growing.

Just got my first phragmipedium schlimii and I'm in love with it! It smells like candy and the fact that it's a bog orchid and I can plant it with my other bog/ carnivorous plants makes me so happy. I repotted my phragmipedium schlimii with Utricularia Bisquamata which to me looks like little orchids. Can't wait to see the progress
