Well they are indeed spectacular! Here's hoping mine will do better next year!

Thanks, I think this is the best I've had from Cyps. I'm really pleased with this one this year

Hey Rosie, do you have an updated photo just to see how they sit outside, and also to see what they look like a couple weeks later?

The flowers are rather the worse for the rain causing spots and discoloration, but still going strong. The Pavrille just in front of it opened about the same time but the flowers have now faded.

Please excuse our scrappy looking fence, it's due for replacement this year The pots sit against a fence, the sun rises on the left, and moves round behind the fence and sets on the right. The fence is probably facing about South-South-East, but I've not actually used a compass to check.

At this time of year our house (behind me when taking the pictures) shades the Cyps until about 10am, then our neighbours (the wall in the third picture) shades them a bit later and then they get shade from the fence. Evening light only clears the fence late on when it's not too hot.

However as the sun gets higher later in the year it clears the roof of their house and the fence for longer. I've tried to place them in the shelter of the broom shrub on the left (center of the last picture), but I have too many to all be shaded by that. Last year one of the Cyps did burn. However this is the shadiest spot I have as we don't have any trees close by.

Thank you! Im just trying to figure out what i did wrong. Mine have all blackened and withered now, barely any green left at all. Mine are in a similar spot as yours, sun from 9 to 12 and shade the rest of the day.

Don't know if your sun is hotter than mine. We've had some hot days already this year, but hot in the UK is not the same as hot in other parts of the world.

Did they brown first, then blacken. I find too much sun causes browning.
