I find phrags pretty easy to grow - you can't overwater them ! They also grow rapidly if they are happy.
Only issue ( for me ) is that I haven't seen a truly spectacular phrag in terms of colour - they all seem "understated", unlike paphs that come in all sizes, shapes and colours.

I understand exactly what you mean. Still, I remember when I saw my first phrag at a show this spring...the pale green flowers didn't stand out at all, and yet they have this droopy, mysterious, almost melancholy attitude about them. Looking forward to finding a Phrag that calls my name. The kovachii hybrids look very promising

wow, you're right. Kovachii and its hybrids are truly spectacular ! Blooms over 6 inches wide too ! I think I should start saving......


...actually there are a few, bessae as another example. Just drooling over the Piping Rock Orchids website.
