Sooo NOT an expert here. But from your pictures and the pictures I looked up this looks like a paphiopedilum. As far as the name not a clue...

Yes, it's a multi-floral paph hybrid.

I think some sort of Polyantha x Cochlopetalum type.

I'd further guess that one parent is either paph primulinum or paph glaucophyllum.

Paphiopedilum Primary Hybrids

Look at pictures there - what's your take of what it could be?

(I think it's probably Paph Honey)

I'm definitely no expert when it comes to Paphs, especially any hybrids involving Cochlopetalum or Polyantha...

I was thinking philippinense too, just as I suspect you did jeremyinsf, but I'm wondering if it isn't a Paph. Landmark (sanderianum x glaucophyllum). Sanderianum because of the shape of the pouch, the twist of the petals, and the dorsal. Glaucophyllum because of the colour, especially on the petals. It doesn't really look like the primarys showcased on slipperorchids.info, but do a web search on Paph Landmark, and see if it couldn't be one of those (I searched on all the primary hybrids I thought it could be, before hazarding a guess).

On Paph. Honey, I feel that the dorsal and petals are too different, especially the texture on the petals, and the colour.

But, as I said, I'm no expert. I could ask those who are though, if you, cgregory, are okay with me borrowing your pictures and showing them on Slippertalk? Or you can join Slippertalk yourself and ask there.

Yes, I see your points! I'm not the best ID person I will say - too much variations in plants, photos - and these flowers can all look alike after a while! (I realize the blasphemy in saying such a thing...)

I agree with you, it's hard to tell the hybrids apart at times, and I also agree with your blasphemous statement. I mean, even species are really hard to distinguish at times, but I'm more of a species person, than a hybrid one (although, some hybrids do bring out the best in both parents).

If it came down to my being able to tell a difference between a hybrid and species to save my life I would be in serious TROUBLE!

I don't think one can get any closer than that.
Many hybrids look so similar, but definitely those two groups fused together.

How about calling it Paph. NOID PC?

Looks a little like paph. prime child to me. Thats probably not what it is, but maybe some influence of the parents there?

It looks like a cross between Paph, glaucophyllum (or one of its closely related kin) and sanderianum, although with sanderianum as a parent I would expect the petals to be longer.
