This is the only "phrag." like species I own. I love white blooms and fell in love with the size of this species when I 1st saw it. It's the 2nd. x I've tried it. This one was bought 2 years ago from a society member. This is probably the most expensive orchid I'll ever own. It has 5 shoots now, and it's its 1x blooming.

Nicely grown! And it already has multiple buds on the stem, good for you! Mine is in low sheath and hopefully with bloom soon if I don't mess up...

I think this thread is the wrong section. Isn't it supposed to be in the cypripedium alliance? The flowers are beautiful by the way!

Kevin, I agree on both counts! I meant to post it in the miniatures forum. If anyone can change it for me, it would be very much appreciated.

Very nice! Who sold it to you? I'd like to make an attempt at it once I am finished my basement.

Hi Ezil! Wonderful blooms and well grown plant. How do you grow it?

Lordoftheswamps: You must know Fat Old Bald Guy (Chuck). If you want him to hold a plant for you, you should ask him when you next see him. He is a great mentor, so he can also evaluate your growing conditions with you.
Sbrpfio: this plant like high light, high humidity, high temps. and good ventilation. It is grown in a shallow bonsai pot. On the bottom I have a layer of leca pellets, and then the mix (which needs to be open, fast draining and on the alkaline side). It only gets rainwater or melted snow, and is fertilized @ 1/3str. every other week. The new shoots are very fragile (I must have knocked off at least 3 of them), so in the summer I have it in its own Nano terrarium, near a window. It often gets around 40deg. C for a few hours, and the plant seems to like it. Since it's also prone to rot, excellent ventilation is necessary, yet it also needs rel. high humidity. In the winter it's grown under lights in a bigger terrarium with the christensonia vietnamica. Not the easiest plant to grow. Maybe there are easier ways, I just haven't discovered them.

This is just awesome! I bought one of these guys about a month or so ago and I'm pretty excited to see this one bloom like yours! Do you know which varietal this is? I have 'Windy Hill' and I'm wondering if mine will look the same as yours.

I forgot that Chuck occasionally sells plants too.
