Default Paphiopedilum Hung Sheng Venus

Here is a cross between Paphiopedilum venustum album and charlesworthii album. It is a first time bloom and a little deformed but I love it, I can't wait to see what she will look like with multiple blooms.

Nice one Susie, is it normal for the spike to be so short, and if so do you know which parent that is a trait of.? Just begining to learn about paphs. I love them.

Love all those little hairs!

Hi Carol. I don't know how tall the spike should be but it does have charlesworthii in it and that is usually quite short. However, I did see another one online and the stem was alot taller. I guess it depends on the culture.

I have mine quite far from the window. They are on top of a dresser which sis about 14 feet back from a south west facing window. they get some bright afternoon sun but I don't think that they are over exposed. I would like to get a taller spike on them but so far the two that I have managed to bloom here have been short.
