Cypripedium acaule in Newfoundland
Well I fianally have some native orchids open in my area. Our orchid season starts with C. acaule and this year they are quite common (some years you are hard-pressed to find any). I took a few pics this morning. Enjoy!

Wow! Late up your way, eh? Nice shots, by the way.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Hi Todd
Nice pics. Does anyone know why they are more common this year?

Yes Tin it is fully open; this Cyp never seems to open as much as others in the genus.
