Default growing Cyprepedium tibeticum in Wisconsin

I have a Cyprepedium tibeticum which I wintered over in the fridge. (I was told it is too wet to leave it outdoors in winter in Wisconsin because of excess wetness during snow melt). I put it outdoors about a month ago and have covered it every time frost was possible. It seems to be doing ok, but the growth is very slow. It is only about 2 inches tall with just 2 leaves. Is this normal or do I need to do something more?

Svante Malmgren is well known amongst terrestrial orchid growers from an international terrestrial orchid forum.

He's the same person that came up with the recipe for the orchid seed sowing medium called Malmgren's Modified sowing medium.

This is cool! I never would have thought to look up information on Cypripediums in his website. I've often heard of his other work dealing with Dactylorrhiza, Orchis, and Ophrys.
