I was just discussing dividing this plant and trading with another member. Guess it'll have to wait a bit!

Yes. I would wait until it's double what you have now. The plant that is pictured in another thread is half of a plant that was divided two years ago. It had to be cut in half with a saw.

I cannot tell from your photo if your plant is in a one or two gallon plant, but if it is in a one, I would just up pot it to a 2 gal. until it gets large enough to divide.

Then leave it alone for a couple more years. How many BBs and green bulbs? I cannot tell from the photo.

I wish I had winter space to let it run rampant, but I simply don't. When I divide one division will have 2 leafless pseudobulbs, 2 mature pseudobulbs, a hopefully soon to be blooming growth and 2 smaller ones. The second will have 2 almost leafless pseudobulbs, 3 mature pseudobulbs, a hopefully soon to be blooming growth and 3 smaller ones. I can't get a good pic right now, but I think most people who had to divide this plant in two would walk up and think "yup, right there!"

If it is that big, then go ahead and split it. Just be sure to remove all the roots off the leafless BBs to preclude them just rotting in the pot.

Around 60 buds on this spike, one of 3. At least 150 buds total.
