One sign of a healthy plant is the fact that, up to a point, each new pseudobulb will be larger than the previous one eventually. I say eventually, because it may take two years for a Cym growth to fully mature.

Yes, the older bulbs give strength to the new growths so each new growth should continue to be larger. When they start diminishing is size in a large division, you are probably 2+ years past repotting! Be patient. From your description, you have several years to go to put your plant back into a healthy growth pattern.

Pictures would still help and I think you have enough posts by now.
