Talking My first cymbidium

My 'secret santa' (who has come earlier this year) has gifted me a cumbidium! I'm so glad! It's my first, so I guess I'll have lots of questions. I don't know which kind it is (probably some kind of hybrid), but I really like the delicate colours.
Here it is:

Hopefully you were lucky enough to have a label with a name on it in the pot. If so, do not throw it away. One day, you will be glad you know the name of your first Cym.

Really pretty!

Could be an unidentified hybid, there are lots of those about. However Cym Ladye is right, if there is a name on the tag hang on to it, I regret throwing tags away in my early days of growing. If there is a grower name on the tag you may be able to contact them and get a name even if it's not written on the tag.

Unfortunately, there was no name on the tag. I know where it was bought, I will try to ask them, but I think they won't know.
It was impressive enough of my 'secret santa' to remember I wanted a cym and to actually get one! So the name is not so important.

Without a tag, I would make a tag saying:
Cym. hyb. ign.
'Secret Santa'

Standing for hybrid unknown and then the varietal of your choice set off in single quotes. That way when you divide it one day, you will know what plant it is, even if not in bloom, and meanwhile enjoy it as your 'Secret Santa' Cymbidium.

That's a brilliant idea, I will do it!
