Default Cym Ming 'Emperor'

I did not grow this spike-- bought it this way-- but the plant is beautiful and the spike is a good 1.5 feet tall. The flowers are just now opening. I think the name is appropriate-- emperor. It's turning out to be quite the stately plant! BTW, I'm told this plant does fine without the traditional cooling off period of most cyms... we shall see.

Edit to say the petal on the left side of the pic was slightly damaged-- hence the imperfection. I'll grab a pic of the whole plant when in full bloom.

Lovely bronzy peach colors....these compact miniature Cymbidiums may flower twice a year and they are temperature tolerant. I have a couple types of these but in different colors. They just love it in my window sill....

Bud, these are considered compact?! Wow. I had no idea. I guess ill stick with the compact and Asian cyms.

Thanks, Rosie, and yes I like the color too. Kind of gives this bloom a pop it needs. The plant is beautiful. I'll get photos of the full thing soon.
