Hi all!

Long time no see! The last time I was super active on this board my Holy Ghost orchid was going through a bit of a crisis. I lost two psuedobulbs and a lot of roots to rot and didn't know if it was gonna survive.

Well, it has survived... and it's put out two new pseudobulbs and has started blooming. The blooms that are open aren't perfect... they're dark around the edges since the plant is a little parched due to a lack of roots. The root ball is growing by leaps and bounds every day, though! The whole spike isn't in bloom yet -- only two flowers -- but I couldn't wait to show you!

Thanks to all who helped guide me through saving this one. Y'all are awesome!!

This is the national flower of Panama.
I am waiting for my plant to bloom(mines got 5 large softball sized pbulbs)...maybe the colder months would inspire it.
This is just an amazing bloom.

I noticed you also have the black spotting on the leaves. How do you deal with it? What is is, a fungi infestation or just water marks?

I'm not sure what the black spots are -- they were on the plant when I got it from a local greenhouse. The leaves on the two new pseudobulbs that have come up have no spotting.

The spots don't spread and they don't change so I don't know if it's fungal -- but I don't know if they're water spots, either. The plant grows outside so it's exposed to rain and everything.

I'm sorry I can't help!

Congrats on blooming this one! For some reason my elata has decided that sending out a growth this year was not in the cards Hopefully next year mine will be as nice as yours!
