Cym. (kinkazan X Tsurugi AWA Bijin) Purple Temple
i know a little early (not fully opened) it cracked last nite. it is a chinese cym cross they are warm growers. first bloom on two spikes

Nice one! Do the chinese cyms have a fragrance? I have one spiking (first time) and I'm curious whether fragrance is a possibility.

Remember to check different times of the day and night. Some orchids scent only at night or evening. Some only in the mornings or during the day.

Many cymbidiums do have a fragrance. A lot do not. Most with fragrance smell nice but have heard or at least one describes as smelling like Dead Fish.
