Very nice, I have an 'Alba' and a 'Four Season' I'm hoping they will flower for me next year and a x Grammatophyllum that needs at least 1 more year before flowering.
I had no idea that these had that strong a fragrance

Steve

Thanks for the detailed info. I'm going to follow your instructions for growing and also will go onto e-bay to try to find the pots. I need to find the correct potting medium. Hopefully I will be able to find the pumice, I do have the cactus mix which I used for my epiphyllum.

If all my epi cuttings root I will need to find a recipe for cactus soup. I got more than double the cuttings which I ordered and so far all are doing well. There is no way that I will be able to find room for all of them when I need to take them inside for the winter.

I used to import ensifolium and many other species and their varieties, and I find them super-easy to grow in semi-hydroponics. My source in Taiwan grew them in pumice and chunks of tree fern, so it was an easy transition.

You DO have to be careful to keep water out of the crown, but exposing the plants to a fair amount of air movement helps a great deal.

Oh Ray,

NOW you tell me they do well in S/H after I just ordered tall pots and pumice.

I would have so much prefered S/H if I had thought about growing them that way. I love growing in S/H. My Psychopsis do great that way. I should have thought of doing that. Senior moment I suppose.

I have a small plant of Cymbidium ensifolium v Tie Gu Su xin It's blooming right, 3 very small creamy white flowers. I don't smell much fragrance from it, maybe I'm just not getting it at the right time.
Yours looks quite large compared to mine, and I really like the color. Its a very healthy looking plant.
