Very impressive, Des. But I wouldn't want to be you when it came time to repot all of those orchids. I give myself enough of a headache just trying to stay on top of a few dozen plants. What other types of orchids do you grow? Probably a stupid question, considering where you live, but do you grow disas? I've always been envious of anyone who had the benefit of a climate that would allow for the growth of species from that genus.

Steve I must have about 2000 plants altogether, repotting is not a problem for me I usually buy a case of beer put my feet up and watch my wife do it for me
It takes about a week to repot 800 Cymbidiums which need repotting each year. In reality my wife does the repotting while I ready the pots and the media so it is a team effort . I end up having to fork out for the biggest box of chocolates I can find or taking her to supper. .
If you are thinking of Disa Uniflora they dont grow in this area ,but I do have Disa Cornuta growing in my garden

That's a beautiful plant, Des. And yes, generally Disa uniflora comes to mind whenever I think about the genus; however, I know there are quite a lot more than that. One day perhaps I'll get a small greenhouse that I can use for species that need year round cooler temperatures. Thank you for posting the picture of the disa--and it's even growing wild in a field! That's great.

I envy the space you have - I have about the same amount of cymbidiums but am cramped - space is a great luxury and the plants are healthier. About too either mover or increase the growing area. I think you commented before about the white shade cloth - it looks good to me does it work well?
