Default new cym...

Well I went to my local Walmart today and got the shock of my life...they had cymbidiums, with tags even, for $21.88 Canadian. I couldn't help myself, I'm weak, I bought one. I got agrivaine x sylvania 'rose passion'. I'm not 100% sure, but I detect a very light lemony fragrance, oh yeah and its a mini. Will post pictures later.

Well it is definitely fragrant. I got a good sniff as I was taking these pictures. My local Walmart doesn't usually do anything more difficult then phals, which don't usually have tags. Every single one of the cym had tags. Another lady was buying at least 4 or 5, and several different colors. Yellow, cream, pink, an orangey color and then ones like mine some standards and some mini. I think the mini were pretty much all the same as mine thru.

but here's the promised pictures:

some minor damage to couple flowers, they lost their lip, but otherwise I think it looks pretty good.

Woo Hoo!
Awesome find! Lovely blooms - and fragrant too?
thats great - none of my cyms (yet) are fragrant, tho waiting for dayanum and ensifolium to hopefully bloom as they are supposed to be fragrant.

I wish the bbs here would have tags with the cyms - I have found some lovely plants at costco but no names!

Good luck with your new beauty! Cyms can hold their blooms quite some time so hopefully you will be enjoying them for a while!

I got ensifolium v. Tie Gu Su Xin 3 weeks ago at the London show. Supposed to be fragrant, and warm tolerant. Let me know if yours blooms because mine already finished I think before I got it. And its tiny compared to this new one.

yes - ensofolium is a much smaller plant - got mine a couple months ago - is supposed to be a bloom size division so we'll see. Should I get blooms I will definitely be posting
