Default Need help with bugs on new Cym

I just received a new Cym in the mail and it's totally covered with what I believe is scale. Each of the little bumps seems to have two "spots" on one end and some have a "U" shape indent as if something came out of them.

I've tried wiping it down with alcohol but the stuff is VERY hard to wipe off. (Much harder than any scale I've seen before.) Looking at it through a magnifier it looks like it's ruffled-up around the edges a little - but not gone.

Can anyone tell me what this is and what to do about it?
Thanks so much, Gloria

Yes, it really looks like that the plant has a bad case of scale.
If I were you, I would contact the person who sold this to you and demand a refund. The scale is so visible, I don't know how they could have missed that.

Gloria: I agree with the others on this one, I'd be contacting the seller and asking for a refund, if not returning the plant as well.

Buyer beware. I wouldn't purchase anything from that vendor.

Hmmm, send it back and don't ever buy from them again. What were they thinking sending a plant in that condition!! There is no excuse for that! Demand a refund!!

This is terrible!
Did you contact the vendor about the condition the plant is in? What did they say?
I hope they give you full refund (including shipping). I can't believe they didn't know they were shipping scale to you.
