Default Cymbidium growth?

I have a Cymbidium (Pink Champagne 'Old Vienna'), which is my first Cym. Anyways, It sent out a new growth in November, and is now about 1.5 inches long. Yesterday, I noticed another 'nubbin' ( ) on the other side of the newest pseudobulb. From the picture ( Its still VERY small, can anyone tell me if it is a new growth or a flower spike?

Thanks

Cam

Looks like a growth to me. Wrong shape for a spike and coming from the wrong place.

Now I will have a much larger plant! Thanks.

Where do the flower spikes normally come from?

Generally higher up and from new growths starting to form bulbs. Larger plants can & do send up spikes from mature bulbs. Spikes are usually round or cigar shaped and will appear at an angle outwards rather than straight up.
