Nice looking flowers on that one Doc! How big is the plant over all? Looks like it's in the intermediate range to me.

Keep in mind that cymbids have a long blooming span; depending on their ancestry, some will not be blooming until April or later; these ones will not start to initiate spike until later in the season. I have 4 or 5 plants that typically bloom in late April or May, and will not see spike formation on them until mid March at the earliest. There is hope yet!

Hey Adam, I know it is difficult to determine size from a pic without some reference point. the pot is about a 10" to 12" . Thanks for the education...got my fingers crossed that the others will flower. I did get some flowers on two others but the "show" wasn't anywheres close to this one...just two spikes on the red and only one on the yellow (the yellow flowers are much larger that either of the other two).... better than nothing at all!

Nice pics Doc. The red/white one reminds me of those peppermint pinwheel candies.

Thanks, Adam. Ross responded to one of my other threads and sounded like your winter was getting to him so I suggested he take a trip over to your place and this may cheer him up...... didn't think you'd mind me using you as some therapy for him.....

No prob Doc...though there's not a ton in bloom in my gh...lots and lots in spike, but we have not had any sun for thae past 2 months, so things have not been advancing very rapidly (and I refuse to up the degrees in the gh during the day...the thermostat is set at 44F and there she stays...)...guess this just means that I'll have cymbidiums for April, May & June instead of earlier...oh well, at least all the cool temps should give me some hellacious color!
