Cymbidium as landscape plants in Hawaii

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

I was hoping someone from Pacific Northwest would join/chime in on Cymbidiums, because I know they grow them up there really well.

Very nice! I like the idea of using orchids that way.

Would love to see the pictures. My wife has planted cymbidiums in the ground here in Florida only to have the plants decline and die. There are pathogens in the soil here that attack cymbidiums. The whole plant should
be at least 18 inchs off the ground in my location. The plants are semi or teresterial in the himilaya region so obviously it is not true everywhere. There may be varieties that do better than other as garden plants.. Would love to know more about which ones and the circumstances where they grow. I keep truing with some of the divisions of my bigger plants.

I redid my gallery and ended up breaking the links. Sorry. I'll try to redo that section when I get a chance.
