Default Cymbidium findlaysoniana

Greetings-
Hope I've spelled it correctly - my only species Cymbidium, as well as the only hot-growing one I have - the others are all old cool-growers that are strictly outdoor plants here in the deep south. Some people here keep these (cool growing) in coolers full of ice, replacing the ice as it melts, to assure blooms. Now, doesn't that sound like fun?
Any experiences with this species? I have seen it bloom both in winter and summer - which would be more typical?
I lusted after one for a long time, and last winter a pal gave me a division which has grown very well (in pure fresh horse manure).
Of course, I want flowers, and lots of 'em.
Thanks - Nancy

Cymbidium finlaysonianum (per OrchidWiz) is an epiphyte and requires high light and temps. Blooms Feb-Sep with peak month July. Check out GROWING THE NEW TEMPERATURE TOLERANT CYMBIDIUMS at Everglades Orchids. Or, try the CSA (Cymbidium Society of America) forum and ask your questions.

The CSA Forum is dead right now. Hope it comes back up soon.

Per one of themoderators: they are checking out some other forum sites which will allow them more control over editing - there were some disgruntled folks who were making fraudulent posts that were bordering on slander and libel and the moderators did not have the 24/7 time to filter every post.
