Default Gramm scriptum var citrinum

These plants are very common here in Hawaii and you can see them in bloom at just about every plant store on the island right now! Theyre pretty big plants and this is in a 12" pot, I think. This year I was able to get 5 spikes and each spike is probably about 4 feet long. There is a mild but pleasant fragrance and these guys are really pretty easy to grow, if you have the space. The final picture was my attempt at getting the whole plant in the pic and instead it seems to highlight the fact that my growing area is pretty chaotic due to the fact that I have to use natural shading from plants to shield my plants from the sun! Enjoy!

Isurus,
That is a magnificent specimen......5 spikes at 4 feet each!
If I had the space for a gramm., I'd make it one of these... but alas, my space is lacking for something so big.
Nice work!

Very, very nice Steve, I'm so jealous I visited Hawaii 1 1/2 years ago and had a Gr. Scriptum shipped home to me. It has grown but not bloom. I had it on my pooldeck with all morning sun but I have a screened enclosure. I have since repotted and moved it to my garden under a tree so it gets the east & west sunlight but shaded from the south. What do you think my chances are I do see new growth once again.

I got mine and repotted it right away a couple of years ago. It grew but did not flower for all that time. I think these plants are very touchy when it comes to disturbing them. You might actually have to crank up the sunlight for your plant as well. Many of the growers here in Hawaii expose their Gramms to full Hawaiian sun all day long and they love it. I give it as much sun as my little area will allow it gets full mid-day sun as well.
