This native of Madagascar has tiny flowers but lots of them (More yet to open, but enough to give the idea) and they are long lasting, the plant will be in bloom for a couple of months. The flowers are only about 1 cm (3/8 inch) but zoom in close and they are very beautiful and intricate. It grows over a range of elevations, up to 1500 m. It lives on my southern California patio. Thanks, ES!

Thanks! From a distance, you wonder if it the flowers are even alive.. all you see is the brown backs and they look dried out. But get in close, and WOW!

The first time mine flowered I thought the spikes were full of dead bracts!
