Default Cyrtopodiums- Autumn, Winter Care

Hey All,
I get questions regarding autumn and winter care for Cyrtopodiums fairly regularly. This video details autumn, winter, and a bit of spring care for this genus. I also show some recent imports from Floralia, which is is a springboard for how to care for Cyrtopodiums as they exit dormancy.

Agree... Done!

Actually, Catasetinae should also be with Cymbidae and Stanhopea with Maxillariae, but there's far too much history to straighten it all out.

Maybe we should organize forums by flower color?

Informative video, Steve. But I'm still not brave enough to jump in and try my hand with a species from this genus. Perhaps I would be emboldened if you were to helpfully supply me with a large, blooming-size plant. I think that would be a real confidence booster. I think that, based on our previous exchanges of plants, you should already have my shipping address printed on a label and ready for a box! :-)

Ha! Indeed! I’ll see if I can chop something in the spring. I actually sent two back bulbs to a friend in Florida in June and the promptly shriveled up and died. A haven’t mastered divisions yet!

Hausermann's sold seedlings of macrobulbon earlier this year. I found it easy to grow. I had to watch like a hawk for spider mites and spray with soap three times.
