Default repot old cymbidiums

Hi - I am new to this site - looking for a source for coco bark that I heard about - does anyone know where I can order it? I have some old (I have had them for over twenty years) cymbids that REALLY need to be separated and have new medium. I live on Whidbey Island in WA

Hi! A good source for orchid potting medium is Orchid Supplies - Orchid Mix - Orchid Pots - Orchid Fertilizer - rePotme.com Orchid Supply and I do believe Ray sells some coconut husk chips as well and his website is Welcome to First Rays Orchids

Hope this helps!

I think everyone has their own opinion and it would depend on your growing conditions. Repotme.com has some Monterey Pine Bark that is supposed to be really good...and from what I have tried so far it is good...but I also use and like the coco husk chips.

Shipping charges are important expecially with large bulky items like media orders. I like to find a vendor close to me. Go to "Orchid Mall" The Orchid Mall - Everything in Orchids and look for a vendor close to you. Have a close look at the product then consider the shipping charges. CHC is a great potting media & I really like it for Cymbidiums and Slippers. Have used it for about everything but it may not be the best for some of the rest. Have had luck with most of First Rays
products but would have a look at shipping charges too.

Judyanne:

You might also try Cal-West Tropical Supply...I order pots and supplies from them frequently and am always pleased with their service, supplies and shipping cost. As mentioned though, you will pay more for shipping of potting media
Calwest Orchid Supplies

You might also try looking at a Lowes or Home Depot if you have access to one. I have cound CHC at both in the past, usually in the spring.
