How long have you been growing orchids?

September will be 1 yr, guess I will have to have a chid party and buy myself a chid from my want list.

Long enough that I can't remember when I started? I think I got my first orchid freshman year of college. That would have been... 1988. And, not to make it easy on myself, it was a reed stem epidendrum species (hard to grow in a dorm room). I think my second was a miniature (Schoenorchis fragrans) - which I had until I killed it a year or so ago.
Didn't really start growing orchids in earnest until graduate school, say around 1992. Damn Hausermanns... *grin*

I've been growing orchids since 1975. Of course it started on windowsills, expanded to a light set up, a small greenhouse, then to a larger greenhouse. What an obsession! I guess I could build an even larger greenhouse
