Default Our next Orchidboard Project...

I just KNEW that would get your attention

Since many of you are now planning your last purchases of the year before winter comes, I think we should plan ahead for our next project like we did last year.

I will mark the date on our OB calendar to show the following:

The first week of March, we will start the first stages of OB's Project #5, with the knowledge that the plants will not be ordered until at least mid-April so shipping is not a hassle.

Our most recent project, #4, gave us cause to question the way the projects have been done in the past. With so many people joining us I think we're going to have to make a change. It will be almost impossible to ensure everybody can get the same plant from the same vendor so for Project 5, the vendor will be one of our own choosing as long as it is a Near Blooming Size plant.

Any other lessons learned?

There! Now we all have something to look forward to after a dreary winter

I think this makes total sense. There should be no reason (other than cost) for going to a certain vendor, if someone from another country (from us) cannot participate. As long as the plant selected fits within my abilities to provide it's proper regimen, I will be happy to participate.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)
