2008 OrchidBoard Calendar Contest

Time for another contest! The 2007 calendars turned out great and we got some really good feedback about it. The member supplied photos were all spectacular. Time we start on the 2008.

Future proceeds (if any) from the sale of the calendars will directly support this growth of the orchid board community.

I know a lot of you snap amazing pictures of your orchids. Why not show them in the calendar ?!

2008 Calendar will consist of 13 images (1 cover and 12 for individual months)

This is the cover of our 2007 Calendar:




Each photo will be captioned with the name of the orchid and the name/username of the person who took the picture.

Deadline: Sunday July 15th

Prizes:
For now prizes will include copies of the calendars. If your picture will be featured in the calendar, you'll get a copy. If you feature 3 photos, you'll get 3 copies.

Last year we had some amazing photos enter, hopefully this will be even better

You may post a sized version (not larger then 640px in width) of your image in this thread for all to see. I will select the final choices and we will vote for the cover image together.


Contest rules.

1. Images must be submitted unsized and at maximum available resolution.

2. Once you submit an image you give orchid board the right to manipulate it/size it/crop it and alter it in any way we want in order to use it, and also re-use the image at a later time in conjunction with other Orchid Board activities.

3. Submitted image must be your own work. Use of other or copyright material will result in immediate disqualification

4. When you submit the photos please be sure to clearly caption the photos with correct full names. Also, please specify your real and and your OB username in your email.

5. Maximum 3 photos per member

6. Please make sure the photos are free of any watermarks or text.

what about photos that I have already posted on the forum...
There are some slippers that I wouldn't mind submitted and I can send the orginial photos before I editted them by putting writing on them (or I should I keep the writing, the background is generally black on my photos anyway)

Also remember that the photos on the calendar should all be landscape, not portrait configuration...So any portrait submissions will need to be cropped a lot in order to cover the entire page. Please submit only landscape

Do you want just the reduced image (jpeg) attached to the e-mail or the large file? I'm still a bit confused as the the entry process. My files run to 50 megs each and would need to be sent snail mail on disk.

I'm a little confused also. You want the large file sent via email? Also, can you submitt photos of NOID orchids? Here's one of my Phal. NOID.
