Submission: Any time before Sunday May 29 at midnight

Submit an article/story about any aspect of Orchid growing. Your article must be about something that the general orchid enthusiast will find useful. Minimum of 500 words (roughly one page typed), the use of pictures and illustrations is strongly encouraged. Use of proper grammar and spelling is a must. This must be your original work and submission of someone else's article from the net will result in your immediate disqualification and possibly ... loads of embarrassment. If you need help with resizing of images or format, let me know and I'll help you out.

Once you have an article with which you're satisfied, publish it by going to "Publish Story" on the menu on the left. I suggest you write it completely on your computer then copy and paste with some edits. Please host any pictures used in the article in our gallery.


Voting for best article will begin shortly after the deadline.

Last contests resulted in weak turnouts, so your chances of winning are very high ! Tell your friends about this contest.

That is absolutely correct. You're now published on the main page. Anyone going to OrchidBoard.com will see your article. You can easily get to it by pressing on "HOME" in the site menu

if you add yourself an avatar in the profile, it will be shown next to the article.

Oooh, prize change - I hope that isn't a Canada only site.
Must admit I thought the $100 was a pretty sweet prize!

If you out do the Canadians here, then shipping live plants might be an issue. We will figure it out though if it comes up. In any case, it will be worth your time

... just so you guys don't think this is some sort of a Canadian contest ...

How will voters distinguish between the contest entries, and the old entries? For example, in the home page there is the new contest entry, but right below it is my talk on Flora's Orchids. I think you need to separate them.

Yes you can comment on entries. There will be a new thread created once the contest is done. It will have links to specific articles which will be part of the contest. Voting will take place by means of a poll. Highest, 2nd highest and 3rd highest number of votes, win.
