Thanks Shadow

lol I didn't start to use my first name online until recently...I hid everything.

Not so good when I criticize a vendor because they end up knowing it was me...

With all due respect, I wanted to comment on the contest. I just became aware of the contest, by the way (too busy asking silly questions).
As a newbie, and hopefully speaking for other newbies, it would be impossible for us to keep up with the senior members on the board. They have tons of knowledge and they can answer almost any post, thus increasing the number of posts they can make. We on the other hand can only post questions and are therefore much more limited to the number of posts we can make. With limited knowledge, I could never keep up with the seniors. Just my thoughts...hope you understand.

These were our concerns as well, but Orchid board is such a friendly and fun community that everyone usually finds lots of opportunities to post to their heart's content. THere are some new members here who are outposting the old seniors. And I myself haven't got the expertise you would expect from a senior member. In anycase, the major reason for having this posting contest is to get everyone involved in all the conversations occuring on the board so more members can become regular participants. I hope you will try to compete, as I believe even you can outpost anyone else.

Thanks, I appreciate hearing your point of view. And, I can't disagree with you! It really has got everyone posting like crazy!
I just LOVE this site, contest or no contest. I will be a poster forever!

FirstTimer, like Tindo said, the contest is just a 'tool' to get more people involved and participating. There may be a filler post here and there, but that's a small price to pay for increased community participation and spirit

I have to say that a lot of you are straying away from post padding and for the most part the posts are of good quality, on topic and are enjoyable to read.

WAY TO GO Tin! You really deserve to win! (Hey, I'm a poet). You've been extremely helpful to me, a newbie.
Congrats....
