Difficult choice between Catts and Phals. And then there's Vandas. Have to go with the Catts.

I find the results interesting. I had a feeling Catt's would have the most votes but the rest are pretty well divided.

for me, before i started my own collection i love catts. the reason is easy for me: the colours are wonderful, the splash catts even more wonderful and the pictures are awesome. i love the shape, esp those with ruffles. i think you don't get this charming qualities from other chid alliances. i like cyms too, but normally its pale in comparison to catts. and yeah, catts looks more exotic!

I like the Maxillaria alliance, especially the soft-leaf group (I.E. Huntleya, Pescatorea, Zygopetalum, etc). I like them so much that I want to move my collection more in their direction.

I found it to be an easy choice for my favorite...anything vandaceous!
Now, if I had to pick my second favorite, that would be a much more difficult choice.

I've voted for Paphs even though I only have three - they are somehow really magical and I can't wait to get more.
Oncidium alliance was a close second even though they are difficult for me to grow.
I like Catts but I don't have any (yet!) and I have a lot of Phal hybrids but they are becoming very commonplace to my eye due in part to the fact that every television drama set seems to have one in the corner and they are so widely available here in supermarkets etc.

I think that's my slight (very slight) problem with Phals. I love them, and I keep buying them but they do seem to be everywhere, which is why I didn't vote for them.
I think that's why I like some of the species Phals whose flowers are often a bit different from the commonplace ones.
