Posting Contest - packed with prizes - Orchid Board

New contest for the month of November. This one is packed with prizes. We have a lot of members at OrchidBoard that have never posted anything or they post very little. We thought that perhaps a posting contest will get those guys participating a bit more.

Rules are simple. Most posts win !

Monthly Winners
Top Poster #1 - $50 via PayPal or equivalent sponsored prize
Top Poster #2 - $35 via PayPal or equivalent sponsored prize
Top Poster #3 - $15 via PayPal or equivalent sponsored prize

Weekly Top Posters will receive the new 2007 OrchidBoard calendars ! (You can win a weekly prize only once, if you're the top poster over 2 or more weeks, the next week, the prize will go to the 2nd top poster, etc)

If you win a weekly prize, you're still in the running for one of the top 3 prizes to win at the end of November.

Mods and Admins are excluded from this contest and will not show up in the posting statistics.

Please make sure that the posts are meaningful, no fluff or filler posts. For the month of November we're turning on minimum post length to even out the playing field.

I take it the contest starts on the 1st of November?

I also see that Tony is getting a head start on things...don't waste all your posts before things start!

Also, minimum post length? How long are we talking? I know it's to combat the one word posts, and of course I support that, but I'm curious to know the exact specifications.

Yes, Nov 1st is the 1st day. Tony has a ton of stuff to talk about, no worries

btw, those calendars are superb

minimum post is set on 25 characters - but please try not to make posts like this just because you can

I remember a diferent board, I was once an active member of, where "Gumby" used to pad the posts all the time!

I think its a great way to get new members and older members to post questions and answers. It will be interesting how it rolls out. I know I am just not myself if I don't get my daily dose of the OB.

Start stretching your fingers boys and girls...contest is starting at midnight tonight. First calendar will go to the winner next Monday. Have I already mentioned that those are top notch calendars???

I really dig Oscarman's photo in it....sooooooo nice
