I actually prefer the full size plants myself I seem to enjoy the blooms more! The mini's blooms are too small for my taste.
Awesome choices! My luzonica is still a babe, but I am excited for its first blooming cycle.

I agree that the blooms on full sized plants are attention getting.

Fabulous plants, Bud! My sanderiana is a big plant too! It is a newer acquisition and it in spike now. I'm sure after seeing the flowers it will make my list. My scriptum is big, but still slightly wonky due to the care it was given by its previous owner, but I have to say I love the way the roots grow on these guys! I have always been a fan of the spectabile, but I don't have many dendrobiums in my collection, as they aren't fans of mine!

I was like: you'd need an airplane hanger for a vanda that was four feet tall with a 22 foot wide leaf span!

My biggest will most likely be my dendrobium nobel "love, memory, fizz." I wouldnt mind four feet tall! Maybe in the future!

That is a pretty plant, it would definitely put on a show at 4 feet tall!

Well, if I can pick whatever I want, then I have to add:

Vanda Sanderiana
Vanda Miss Joaquim 'Douglas'
Vanda tricolor var. suavis.

This last one seems to have several different names and I'm not sure which one is correct. The flowers are white backgrounded with flecks of pinkish spots all over and it has a deep purple lip. The shape of the flowers isn't that big flat disc that many vandas have either. The petals are thinner.

I'd have nothing but vandas if I had space for them. If my hubby and I ever move to that dream house we keep talking about in Florida, I imagine my screened in pool will be surrounded by a wall of vandas.

I hope you're able to move to your dream house!

I love orchids in general, but I gravitate towards vandas and orchids in that alliance.

On a side note, I have Vanda suavis seedlings in a compot right now (I also have a full size plant that's in spike). Maybe, you'll have room for one of the seedlings once they are a bit bigger?

Oooh... that is so tempting! I just don't know if I'd have enough space once it reached maturity though. I've got enough space to have a Vanda until it gets over about 2 and a half feet tall after that, I have no idea how I would get enough light to it over the winter because that's all the space there is between my T5 unit and the floor.

Do they make metal halide spot lights? That could work... Hrm...

My only "giant" is a Dendrobium spactabile. It's about 2 feet tall now. Crossing my fingers for a spike but have read it can be a picky bloomer. It's starting a new growth so I am hoping that's a good sign!

I'm considering getting den. Moschatum. I've seen the canes get as large as 7ft. And the blooms look like fuzzy yellow shoes lol. I just don't know if I have room for a monster like that right now. Once I get my greenhouse I'll definitely get one.
