also, when you read the title post for the actual contest thread, did you seem to think it only included orchids? im not sure if it should or not, but i have some cool non-orchid but flower shots, if you think thats ok. if not thats fine too

Seeing as I only brought a small portion of my collection back to the netherlands this time, I have nothing in bloom to work with (one plant in bud). Might have to sit out of the November contest.

nobody said you cant take different pictures this time. you could also use older photos. when we do the artsy one, it would just help to push people into new ideas.
you could take pictures of individual aspects of the plant. its not limited to blooms.

RE Photoshop- as Bob said, this time, let's keep it simple with no photoshopping other than cleaning up backgrounds and enhancing the subject. Next time when we've worked out all the kinks, we can have a separate division for "photo art" that has been seriously altered with photo software. Does that make sense?

I believe this should be just Orchids (this is, after all, an orchid forum  ). If we make a non-orchid contest, it can be put in Off-Topic. Or can be a separate division in the future. |

I said keep it simple and NOT MAKE IT REQUIRED. I didn't say you can't Photoshop anything. There is nothing wrong with Photoshop.
