Gin, both my wife and I were born and raised in northwest Missouri so I know what you mean. I had a fairly large lathe house that housed them in the summer, but all went into the greenhouse during the winter. While they grew just fine, blooms were scarce. Hedge, I can't even begin to imagine the challange that growing cacti there must present. I never tried it, but would growing under lights be an option. Here, they just stay outside year round. They haven't been watered since last October! Nice to have such tough plants! |
I love risk taking... if you never try, well, you'll never succeed, will you?

It was so cute when it was little and I thought I could squeeze it into my collection
