After reading Sue's thread on the Carmel Apple Cheesecake, I had to share another Paula Deen recipe I made a few months back -

What I did was soak the frozen blueberries ( the fresh ones were out of season and very expensive at the time) in blueberry schnapps over night ( substituting the 2 cups of water) which allowed the berries to thaw and soak in all that tasty goodness .. the alcohol burns away leaving an intense added flavor without having to add a lot of additional sugar .. (Of course, go by your own tastebuds to adjust the sweetness)
My next venture on this recipe is to substitute raspberries for the blueberries ..
